A CALL FOR JUSTICE AND A NEW DIRECTION: 2027 IS OUR TIME
What is happening in the Labour Party today is nothing short of poetic justice — a karma unfolding before the very eyes of the nation. It is the consequence of the injustice, betrayal, and deceit done to me and my team in 2022, when some leaders of the party connived to rob me of the presidential ticket — a ticket we labored tirelessly to build — and handed it over to Mr. Peter Obi.
My political journey began with the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), another dormant party at the time. I saw the potential and gave it life again. Recognizing this opportunity, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso reached out. But as is too often the case in our politics, greed and corruption prevailed. The party was sold to Kwankwaso. I alerted my team: NNPP had been hijacked.
We then began scouting for a new platform. Labour Party was among the options we explored. In 2022, LP was a dead structure — no plan, no preparation, no hope. I reached out to its national leaders, including Dr. Abayomi Arabambi, Alhaji Lamidi Apapa, and Barr. Julius Abure. I rallied my team, invested resources, and reawakened the sleeping giant.
I took it upon myself to appear on national television and newspapers, promoting the Labour Party to Nigerians, without the backing of any godfather. I encouraged party leaders to become visible, and we began to build a credible third force. By May 2022, before our primary election in Asaba, we had conducted congresses across the nation. From North to South, the party had come alive.
But just five days before our primaries, those same leaders sold their conscience. They betrayed me and handed the ticket to Mr. Peter Obi in exchange for money. I was forced out of the race. I could have blocked the Labour Party from appearing on the ballot — and I had every legal and strategic right to do so — but I refused. I chose patriotism over personal interest.
I told them then, and I say it again now: I was the David of that election, and I could have defeated every Goliath. But they allowed greed and personal gain to blind them. After I was unjustly removed, the peace and unity we had built collapsed. The party has not known true peace since.
I left Nigeria and began building the Obidient Movement in the diaspora — in America and beyond. But I made it clear: the candidacy of Peter Obi was built on injustice. No matter how loud the noise or how vast the donations, the foundation was flawed. And just as they cheated me, the system cheated them in return.
Before my removal, the party was stable. Afterward, it crumbled because they cheated the oracle of God — a man sent for Nigeria in 2023. I came to know Mr. Peter Obi personally in 2022, and what I experienced was far from the messianic figure many believed him to be.
Where the Labour Party crisis ends, I cannot predict. But whatever direction it takes, it is the result of betraying a man they should never have betrayed.
To all Nigerians, at home and abroad, who look to us for hope and direction — I say this: the current Labour Party leadership cannot deliver the Nigeria we seek. They are transactional politicians, driven by money and self-interest.
I remain a member of Labour Party, but I have not yet decided the platform on which I will run in 2027. What I do know is this: I will run again for the presidency of Nigeria in 2027. Because what we have today is not a nation, but a jungle. It is time for a generational shift.
From President Tinubu to Atiku Abubakar to Peter Obi — they’ve all had their time. It is time for them to step aside.
Look at the global impact of young leaders: Barack Obama (USA), Emmanuel Macron (France), Volodymyr Zelenskyy (Ukraine), and right here in Africa, Ibrahim Traoré (Burkina Faso). Nigeria too needs young, selfless, visionary leadership.
Our elders have done their best. Now, it is our time. I believe Nigeria — a country that has everything yet lacks everything — can rise again.
It is time for a leader who is young, vibrant, intelligent, untainted by the system, and ready to take Nigeria to its promised land.
I am the Joseph of this generation, sent to rescue Nigeria.
I am the David that will defeat the Goliaths of Nigerian politics.
I am the son of nobody, ready to lead the most populous Black nation on Earth — to make it great again.
This is my mission.
This is my vision.
This is my purpose.
This is my resolute path for 2027.
So help me God.
Signed,
