Solidarity! Forever!
On behalf of the RESCUE THE VULNERABLE INITIATIVE aka RESCUE MOVEMENT FOR NEW NIGERIA, DELTA STATE CHAPTER, we want to use this medium to declare our position on the proposed Nationwide Hunger Protest by the citizens of our great Nation.
There’s no doubt that the citizenry call for the peaceful protest is genuine. A peaceful protest is citizens right and it’s permitted in a democratic society and Nigerian citizens are not exempted from this invaluable fundamental human right.
As partners in development and progress with the government, we are aware of the pains of Nigerians viz: the insecurity bewildering our land, the scourging hunger in the land, the galloping inflation of food prices in the market, the constantly increased in fuel price, the forever dead Nigeria refineries that has giving way to the Federal Government of Nigeria abandoning nations own refineries and investing in private DANGOTE REFINERY Also the high unemployment rate in the land, the infrastructural decay in the country, the poor welfare package for the Nigerian military and the para-military, the minimum wage that cannot feed a family for two weeks.
Fellow compatriots, we wish to inform and direct every members of the RESCUE THE VULNERABLE INITIATIVE aka RESCUE MOVEMENT FOR NEW NIGERIA. DELTA STATE, as follows:
- We should all from our various locations in the state join the peaceful protest tags: END BAD GOVERNANCE IN NIGERIA
- We must understand that “Project Nigeria” is for all of us and we must make it work. We will not wait for God to come down and make Nigeria work as God in His infinity mercy has given Nigeria abundant resources to make this nation great.
- We must not wait for the western world to come to make Nigeria work. The destiny of Nigeria is in the hands of Nigerians and we must collectively make it work.
In conclusion, we want to call on all those that will be participating in the proposed protest to shun violent and maintain the spirit of decorum and be peaceful in our coordination. We shouldn’t attack any security personnel, as we are in this all together and we equally appeal to the security forces (The Nigeria Police Force NPF. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps NSCDC and the Military) to be professional in the discharge of their duties as in line with international best practices.
May God make Nigeria succeed!
